Two years later, e-type has recently passed an important milestone by signing up its 250th Centre.  Over 10,000 e-type candidate registrations have now been purchased.

 

As the only Level 2 qualification in touch typing on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF), e-type is the natural accompaniment to ECDL, providing students with efficient keyboard skills to aid effective ECDL learning.  It makes sense to offer e-type to every ECDL candidate, past and present!

 

BCS centres that have not already done so can apply for e-type accreditation via the Approved Centre Forum, with no additional fee to pay.  Also, it is possible to request a free 30-day courseware evaluation online via the e-type homepage.

 

You may not know that because e-type is on the NQF, it is eligible for funding.  So you have nothing to lose by applying for accreditation.  Why not visit the Approved Centre Forum here and put in your application?  It will take you only seconds to complete and submit, and you will receive a response from the BCS within a maximum of 10 working days.

To remind you, each e-type candidate registration costs £40 and consists of the following:-

  • Interactive courseware that teaches the candidate to touch-type in ten structured lessons and includes scores of additional practice and remedial exercises to build up speed and accuracy

  • Up to three test attempts with a chance to pass at three grades – Bronze, Silver  and Gold.  Each test lasts 5 minutes and focuses on speed and accuracy
